BEDROOM OVERVIEW

Moonwater Slumber Rooms

Moonwater comfortably sleeps a maximum of 10 people and therefore, having a spacious, peaceful place to rest your head is one of our main priorities.

We have recently upgraded our living and relaxing facilities at Moonwater to ensure that our guests can benefit from the restorative natural vibes surrounding Moonwater and also have access to comfortable, high quality Egyptian cotton bed linens, towels and mattresses; after all, it’s the little well thought through, personal touches that make the Moonwater experience extra special, right?

Four of the bedrooms are in the main house on the ground floor with three of them benefiting from en-suite shower facilities.  There is another shower room next to the games and TV area.

Throughout the living quarters of Moonwater, there are a variety of ‘breakout’ areas where you can kick off your shoes, put your feet up and lie back on cushions with a favourite book, your favourite drink, listening to soft music, the tropical bird and monkey chatter…

In a tropical climate, mosquito’s can be a worry for some and could pose a problem if you are unprepared, especially for our little ones and therefore, Mrs Chandrani, our Housekeeper begins her sundown ritual each and every day, smoking the house, closing the open windows and scenting the rooms with natural lime repellant, drawing the mosquito canopies around the beds to protect you as you sleep.  Although it is wise to visit tropical islands prepared for such occurrences, the staff at Moonwater will do their best to ensure you remain comfortable at all times – and bite free if possible!

MOONWATER KITCHEN

Dining at Home

Mrs Chandrani is more than happy to prepare breakfast for you and your guests should you wish to take advantage of our bed and breakfast option.  This is usually something healthy and delicious such as tea, coffee, fresh fruits, eggs in a variety of styles, pancakes, omelette or her famous coconut and banana roti’s.  However, you can also experience traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts if you wish!

Unawatuna beach is packed full of vibrant cafes and restaurants on the beach which we are sure you will enjoy.  However, some of our guests prefer a more sedate pace of life and therefore, it is also possible to dine at Moonwater.  Lunches, evening meals or a Seafood BBQ is all possible provided you give our property manager 24 hours notice.  From traditional Sri Lankan fish and vegetable curries to spaghetti bolognese, BBQ’s or fresh salads and desserts, the choice is entirely yours.

“The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. Every day a morning cuppa was awaiting us when we woke up. Both Mrs Chandrani and her husband Talek were always on hand to help with anything we needed and they were genuinely happy to help. The owners of Moonwater even helped us get around and about Unawatuna with a private tuk-tuk organised for us and recommendations on all the best local eateries, nightlife and shopping. We can’t recommend Moonwater enough, you are sure to have a happy stay when you visit.!”

“Well Moonwater, what can I say; you’re more of a state of mind and a gorgeous resort-style villa in Sri Lanka. Our time under your protection allowed us to realign with what’s important in life; family, friends, dancing, surfing and the clean nature of people not bound by a capitalistic drive.”
