Welcome to Moonwater
The Moonwater House was originally a Plantation Managers house, constructed in traditional Sri Lankan style and architecture. Spacious, airy and shaded by the tropical King coconut trees, this ‘open’ style house is fresh with gentle breezes from the ocean and sounds from the local tree dwelling monkeys and island wildlife.
Moonwater sleeps 10 and is spread out on one, spacious open-plan level with the addition of a separate en-suite double bedroom that sits above our Games and TV room. This beautiful en-suite slumber room is also fully air conditioned, has a small balcony that overlooks the main entrance and offers additional privacy underneath our mango tree.
In the main Moonwater house, we have a single twin bedroom, with a further three double en-suite bedrooms all in a row (one with a connecting door). Two of the double bedrooms have what we call ‘Moon Roofs’ that let you shower looking up into the coconut trees and skies, lending to the character of this lovely house. All double bedrooms lead out onto the garden beyond.
At Moonwater, you will be genuinely looked after by our housekeeper, Mrs Chandrani and her husband Tilak who is our trusted gardener, security and groundsman. Along with upgrading the facilities at Moonwater, we have a full time chef who will be able to provide authentic Sri Lankan and European delicacies as well as provide cookery classes for our guests.
Natural, serene and secluded yet just a few minutes drive from the buzzing beaches of south coast Galle and the famous Unawatuna, Wijaya and Jungle beaches, Moonwater is a gorgeous five double bedroom home from home that you can privately rent as an exclusive, fully-staffed house that effortlessly blends sophisticated European elegance with Sri Lankan tropics.
